Park House Hotel £1m refurbishment

The Park House Hotel in Shifnal, has celebrated the completion of its £1m second phase of its refurbishment with an exclusive VIP event which saw almost 200 people from the local community through the door.

Attended by the Mayor of Shifnal, Roger Cox and guests were able see first-hand the changes made to the hotel, which has undergone a huge transformation since it was bought by Crest Hotels Group in 2021.

The latest phase of the refurbishment includes a £300,000 investment modernising the two main meeting rooms and function space, as the venue looks to firmly establish itself as the venue of choice in the region for meetings, events and weddings, being minutes away from M54 motorway, and easily accessible to M6. 

A new -look Garden Suite is the largest function room at the hotel and which also featured in the latest set of renovations with a stunning neutral colour palette to the walls and ceiling; and parquet flooring throughout the space which is flooded with light thanks the rooms stunning glass dome in the ceiling and grand windows. With a 100 to 180-strong capacity it is the perfect conference or wedding venue and promises to become a sought-after space for couples.

Commenting on the relaunch event and refurbishment, Crest Hotels, Managing Director, Jason Hiley said: “We are absolutely delighted to have officially unveiled this second stage of our refurbishment and are so proud of the outcome.

Since buying the hotel in 2021, Crest Hotels Group has given the historic hotel a new lease of life. The final phase takes the total invested to £1,100,000. The significant injection of funds has seen improvements to back of house areas, kitchens, IT infrastructure, £150,000 on implementing a green energy strategy, including solar panels, and £250,000 on modernising the lounge, bar and restaurant areas.

Modern in style with an eclectic mix of furnishings, lighting and seating including booths, adds a touch of opulence to the space, yet retains its charm and character that befits a 17th Century country house, now an iconic hotel for both leisure, meetings and corporate guests and couples.
